Adventurous Wanderers – ad·ven·tur·ous wan·der·er·ers – willing to take risks or to try out new methods, ideas, or experiences + a person who travels aimlessly; a traveler.
After successful careers, we suddenly found ourselves unemployed a few years ago. It quickly became obvious that job prospects for well-seasoned (over 55 years old) business professionals were slim. The only employment opportunities available to us do not pay a living wage.
We made numerous lifestyle adjustments, downsized, moved to the mountains, and began creating a homesteading life. Along the way, we married, introduced our cats to each other, and became e-commerce entrepreneurs. Life was good.
Yet, something was missing. There had to be a better way – a happier way – to live.
We started searching our hearts, listening to the little voice in our heads, and learning about non-conventional lifestyles. We soon discovered that parts of three different lifestyles intrigued us – minimalism, homesteading, and vagabonding. Most importantly, we learned that happiness is not about what you have.
The plan we developed is to sell everything, buy an RV, and live as modern day nomads. We are a few months into a likely eighteen-month transition period.
This blog, we hope, will be inspirational, informative, and entertaining. The blog will allow us to share our progress as we build our tiny home on wheels. We’ll talk about mistakes made, lessons learned, and solutions to challenges. Eventually, we will share the places we wander to as we live and work on the road. Most importantly, it would be remarkable if this blog becomes a virtual communal meeting place where we can share ideas, thoughts, dreams, and experiences.
Please join us, as we become adventurous wanderers.
